Sports Events 365 CEO’s visit to WTM, London

Published by Gonoa Green on Tagged Inside information

Sefi Donner, the enthusiastic and visionary CEO of sports Events 365 came back from London a few days ago. He traveled there to attend WTM, an international show for the global travel trade industry. I took a few minutes of his time to ask a few questions about the future business strategy and goals of our company.

Gonoa: Why did you attend WTM? What is the connection between Sports Events 365’s search engine and tourism?

Sefi Donner: Our location based search engine is built perfectly for the use and goals of the travel industry. Our data is available to any user, but the travel industry can use it perfectly to promote its objectives. Hotel chains can use it to attract people to certain destinations, airline companies can fill up flights with the information, and it only takes the right approach. If you have a troublesome destination, with profits that don’t meet the required goal, you can give it an extra push. Say you know an interesting derby match is about to be played between two well known teams, but not from your own country, that is the sort of information people are looking for as an incentive to travel. The money is there. people are looking for reasons to travel, and you can give them a good one. I strongly believe sports tourism is the next thing. People will take the low-cost flights and hotels and just go to another city just to watch an interesting Football match. It is the same all over Europe and North America. International Tennis tournaments, par example, attract a lot of attention, and people say to themselves “I want to be there. I want to see it, and I want to be able to say I’ve been there.” It’s a dream.

Gonoa: So how was the visit? Any news we should hear about?

Sefi Donner: The visit was very good. I met quite a few people. The major issue is that we can offer so many channels for co-operation – there is our affiliates program and our White Label solutions. We also offer our data as an XML feed. And the options for creative thinking are so wide. I have to explain to the people I meet that it is just the beginning. We work on multi-lingual solutions. We link ourselves. I think some companies are more tuned to the internet as a work tool. These companies “update” their approach more easily. They are more open to the concept that says “users value the information you give. Give them the information they look for and they will come back to you.” It’s not just how cheap you are (although it helps) but how informative and diverse you can be. I hope new contracts will form around that concept.

Gonoa: Thank you. Shell I make you coffee? Is it a good moment to speak of a raise in my salary?!

The phone rings and Sefi is no longer with me….
