Champions League’s High Score

Most of football fans will agree that the UEFA Champions League features the best football in the world. Additional evidence to the above opinion can be found in the high score on the matches held this week – 53 goals in 16 matches. Statistically – over than 3 goals per match, and with three matches that had a total of 24 goals! (Villarreal-AaB 6:3; Steaua-Lyon 3:5; Fenerbahce-Arsenal 2:5, all of them played on October 21^st) Barcelona FC did very well with 5:0 vs. unlucky Basel, which played at home, and was shamed in front of its local audience. Another statistic fact - every match had a minimum of 1 goal (5 matches) or 2 goals (3 matches) or more. And we are still in the relatively early stages! It is no wonder, then, that so many of the calls we get are from football fans looking to purchase their football tickets to the UEFA Champions League! Many of them combine two matches to have maximum fun in two days.

Champions League – Surprises and Schedules

The last round brought some surprises and another glimpse at the capricious world of football. Anorthosis Famagusta (I hope it sounds better in Greek) managed to humiliate Panathinaikos and won 3-1, yesterday. I know that the people in Cyprus have all sorts of unsolved issues with the Turk and the Greek. Is that it, or is it that the club is in an outstanding form? If you wish to see Anorthosis play, your next chance is in Milan. The match Inter vs. Anorthosis will be played on October 22^nd. You can book your tickets online at www.sportsevents365.com. Another success belongs to Arsenal that plays brilliantly at the moment. They scored 4–0 vs. Porto in the match I clearly remember I recommended in previous post. Arsenal’s next match is on October 21^st, in Istanbul, vs. Fenerbahce. I know it will be very very VERY hard to get a ticket, but if you wish, we will try to find these football tickets for you.

Another club I want to point out to you is Atletico de Madrid that started the season well. The match vs. Marseille ended at 2-1. They play next at home vs. Liverpool, on October 22^nd. I think the streets of Madrid will be empty that night, with everyone glued to their TV, and the lucky ones shouting their heads off at the stadium. (The previous match PSV-Atletico ended 0-3!) And last on my list of recommended matches is the one between Chelsea and AS Roma on October 22^nd. The two teams are just wonderful. I know tickets will be quite expensive, but I think it is worth it in such cases. Watch out for the next round of the Champions League on October 21-22! Sports – Exciting Events Wherever You Go

Looking at the charts of the best football leagues in the world, such as the Premier League in England and the Seria A in Italy, you see why football is so popular. All that suspension and surprise will keep even the most indifferent person interested! How about Manchester United uncomfortably placed in the middle of the chart, while the new climber, Hull City, is taking the remarkable 6^th place? I don’t mean to say Man U will not find their rightful place at the top within a few more weeks, I just say you can never tell who will surprise you (For better and for worse)! The same goes for the Italian League where SS Lazio is leading the charts, and AC Milan just beginning to score, with a sweet victory (second for this season) over its main opponent – Inter. Checking our database I came up with an interesting fact – October is the busiest month in sports. All leagues are active and there are so many sporting events everywhere, you can watch one match after the other, almost non-stop! I decided to run a check to see how many events can be found in the main cities in the month of October. I used our www.sportsevents365.com search engine for it. Here are the October results.
