RCD Espanyol is a Spanish football club from Barcelona who play in La Liga. The club was founded in 1900, originally as Sociedad Espanola. Espanyol were one of the founding La Liga clubs in 1928.
The club is known for being the first club in Spain to be formed exclusively by Spanish football fans. Espanyol’s home colours are blue and white.
